In September, VARA holders approved the first community referendum on Vara. It started as a reply on X, went to a community vote, and became Referendum #87: a grant for an independent team to run Vara validators. It passed with 96.4% Aye. The vote worked. But one part still happened off-chain: after the vote, the payment was a separate step.
Most conversations about Vara.eth are about architecture: actors, Wasm, pre-confirmations, the Router contract. That is useful, but it answers the question "how does it work" rather than "what is it for." This article is about the second question.
